Connecting the B050-000 to the Host System

Perform the following steps in order to connect the KVM signals of the server system to the B050-000:
1. Attach the provided cables to
• The VGA outlet on your server or the local console video port on your KVM Switch. Use the blue
VGA connector
• One of the USB ports on your server or your USB KVM switch or server
2. Connect the RJ45 Ethernet connector to your local Ethernet hub using a CAT5 or CAT6 Ethernet cable.
3. Connect the external power supply to the 5V power connector and power on the B050-000.
Warning: The USB standard guarantees up to 500mA power per single USB port. The B050-000 needs up to
700mA current and therefore is not guaranteed to work on USB alone. However, most of the current USB ports
provide more than 700mA so that no external power is needed to power the B050-000. Taking more power
from a USB port than specified may cause damage to your computer and therefore we recommend using
the B050-000 AC adapter at all times.
