7. Lower the current to threshold and check the bullseye on the face of the power
detector to verify proper alignment and operating parameters.

1. Ensure the laser has been purged of any coolant.
2. Attach a nitrogen source to the COOLANT IN port on the laser (see Figure
3-7).
3. Open the inlet valve and adjust the regulator to obtain 80 psi on the pressure
gauge.
4. Close the inlet valve. Wait 5 minutes and repeat step 3 once.
5. Return after 30 minutes and record pressure on the gauge. Subtract this
pressure from starting pressure of 80 psi to get the pressure drop over 30
minutes.
6. Pass/Fail requirements: if the pressure drop is greater than 4 psi the leak test
fails, if the pressure drop is less than 4 psi the leak test passes.
