Hearth Extension Construction

This fireplace can be installed directly on the floor or on a raised base, combustible or not. The
installation can be done according to one of the following options :

When the fireplace is installed directly on the floor,
a non-combustible floor protection of at least 16"
(A) with an R factor of 1.00 must be installed in
front of the fireplace.
The joint between the floor protection and the
fireplace must be protected over the entire width

of the floor protection by a folded and continuous
metal sheet (D = min 2" [51 mm]) (not supplied).
A clearance of 80" (2.03 m) between the base of
the fireplace and the ceiling must be respected.
The minimum floor height under the fireplace
should match (or exceed) the height of non-
combustible materials used for floor protection.
