Routing information

When a 2902 MainStreet system is part of a network of Alcatel proprietary products
capable of sending CPSS messages, it constructs a routing table that contains
information about the nodes in the network. The 2902 MainStreet system knows
which nodes it can send CPSS messages to, how many hops separate it from those
nodes, and which route it should use to send the messages. A hop is equivalent to one
CPSS link between two nodes and is not related to physical distance.
The routing table information can be displayed through the node management
session to assist in diagnostic and maintenance operations. You can display three
tables to show different routing information:
all nodes in the network (SHOW_NODES)
all nodes in the network that are a specified number of hops (CPSS links) away
from the 2902 MainStreet system (HOPS_AWAY)
all nodes in the network that use a specific path to communicate with the
2902 MainStreet system (VIA_PATH)
In each case, you specify a node number. The display lists all nodes having a node
number equal to or greater than the number specified.
