b. Immerse the intake air temperature sensor
"1" in a container filled with water "2".
TIP
Make sure that the intake air temperature sensor
terminals do not get wet.
c. Place a thermometer "3" in the water.

d. Slowly heat the water, then let it cool down to
the specified temperature.
e. Measure the intake air temperature sensor
resistance.

• Intake air temperature sensor

CHECKING THE GEAR POSITION SWITCH
1. Remove:
• Fuel tank
Refer to "FUEL TANK" on page 7-1.
• Gear position switch
Refer to "CRANKCASE" on page 5-57.
2. Check:
• Gear position switch
Out of specification  Replace the gear posi-
tion switch.
