Upgrading Process
During the upgrade process, the upgrade program does the following:
•
Uninstalls the old version
•
Installs the new version
•
Preserves and migrates the configuration to the new version
Upgrading the Image File Name
The format of the upgrade image file name is: AC-MV-<version>-<revision>.<platf>
•
version — version number (for example 08.00.00.0174)
•
revision — software release number
•
platf — is one of the values from the table below

Upgrading Using the GUI
Use the following procedure if you are upgrading using the GUI.
Note
You should always backup the existing software image during the upgrade process. Backing up
provides you the option of restoring your wirelss controller to its previous configuration. For more
information, see Restoring the Backup Image from the GUI
The wireless software provides two upgrade options:
•
Local – Upgrades the wireless software by using the image file that is located either on the local
drive or USB device. This is the preferred method of upgrade.
