The CAMBox reference value must be checked in the
following situations:
R
On performing two-yearly checking by the testing
department.
R
In the event of maintenance work (e. g. phase
encoder replacement).
The following accessories are required for checking the
CAMBox reference value:

Dial gauge holder 1 687 233 111
R
Digital dial gauge (e.g. Käfer type FMD 25 T)

Graduations: 0.001 mm
$
Measurement range: 25 mm
$
Error limit: 5μ
$
Stem diameter: 8

Measuring element for digital dial gauge
(e.g. Käfer type 573/21)

Lift plate 1 687 001 895 for UP with roller tappet

Hexagon socket head bolts M5 x 25 (2x) and spring
lock washers for securing the lift plate (included in
scope of delivery of CAMBox).

Fitting the lift plate

For fitting the test accessories, the CAMBox
camshaft must be in the bottom dead center
position. If the camshaft is in a position other
than bottom dead center, there is a danger of the
"pretensioned" camshaft suddenly starting to turn.
Procedure:
1. Detach the protective cover of the CAMBox.

2. Position the lift plate for UP with roller tappet on
the rocker with the thrust plate facing upwards
and secure with two hexagon socket head bolts
(M5 x 25) and spring lock washers. The front two
rocker fastening holes are used for attachment.
8.1.2

Fitting the dial gauge holder

Procedure:
1. Screw the measuring element into the measurement
probe of the dial gauge.
2. Slide the dial gauge into the dial gauge holder and
secure by way of the bolt (Item 1).
