Move t he remote chute l ever onthe control panel forward topivot the
upper chute d own; move thelever rearward topivot the upper chute
up.
Wheel
drive control
Referto the Adjustment s ectionof the Assemblyinstructions to adjust
the wheeldrive control.Tofurthercheckthe adjustment,proceedas
follows:
1.
With thesnow throwertippedforward (be certainto run the
fueltank dry beforetippingthe unitforward),removethe frame
coverunderneaththe snowthrowerby removingthe self-tapping
screws.
2.
Locatetheopeningbetweenthe axlesupportbracketand
the frontframe support(See Figure21). Lookingthroughthis
opening,with the wheeldrivecontrol released,theremustbe
clearancebetweenthefrictionwheeland the driveplatein all
positionsof the shift lever.
3.
With thewheeldrivecontrol engaged,the frictionwheelmust
contactthedrive plate.See Figure21.
4.
If there is no frictionwheelclearance,or the frictionwheeldoes
notsolidly contactthe driveplate,re-adjustthe lock nuton the
lowerend of the drivecablefollowingthe instructionsin the
Assemblysection.
5.
Reassemble the framecover.
Chute
Bracket
If thespiralat the bottomof the chutedirectionalcontrolis not fully
engagingwith the chuteassembly,the chute bracketcan be adjusted.
To do so:
1.
Loosenthe two nuts which securethechute bracketand reposi-
tion it slightly.See Figure22.
2.
Retightenthenuts.

Referto the Assemblysectionfor instructionson adjustingtheauger
controlcable.

Shoes
Referto the Assemblysectionfor instructionson adjustingtheskid
shoes.
BELT REPLACEMENT
Belt Removal
Preparation
1.
Disconnectthe chutecrank assemblyat the dischargechute end
by removingthe hairpinclipand theflat washer.Referto Figure
23.
2.
Removethe plasticbelt cover,locatednearthe engine,by remov-
ing the threeself-tappingscrewsthat secureit. See Figure24.
3.
Loosenthe bolt shownin Figure25 securingthe belt keeper
bracketand removethe otherbolt. Pushthe beltkeeperand
bracketup off the enginepulley.

Belt Replacement
1.
Removethe hairpinclip and flat washerfrom the ferrulein orderto
disconnectthe augeridler rod from the brakebracketassembly.
