Placechuteassemblyonto chutebaseas shownin Fig. 4,
makingsurethat the notchesengagewith the spiralend of chute
directionalcontrol.

Secureflangekeeperremoved earlier with lock nuts and screws.
Tighten downnutssecuring theothertwo flangekeepers. S eeFig.5.

If notalreadydone,slip the cablesthat runfrom the handle
panelto the dischargechute intothe cableguide extendingover
the topof the engine.See Fig.4.

If notalreadydone,wrap thewire of the headlampwire harness
downthe righthandleuntil thewire can be pluggedintothe
enginealternatorwireconnectordownon the engine.
10. Normallythe cableties holdingthe steeringcablesagainst the
handleare loosely installedon eachside of the lowerhandleat
the factory.Pull thecable ties tight to secure.Cut the excess
from theends of cableties.
The extensioncord is fastenedwith a cabletie to the rearof the auger
housingfor shippingpurposes.Cut thecable tie and removeit before
operatingthesnow thrower.

Tool
A chute clean-out tool is fastenedto the top of the augerhousing
with a mountingclip. See Fig. 6. Thetool is designedto cleara chute
assemblyof ice and snow.This item,alongwith the extensioncord, is
fastenedwith a cabletie at thefactory,whichyou wereinstructedto
cut in the previoussection.
Neveruseyour handsto cleara cloggedchute assembly.Shut
off engineand remainbehindhandlesuntilall movingparts have
stoppedbeforeusingthe clean-outtoolto clear thechute assembly.
Drift
Cutters
1.
Removethe two screwsand lock nutsthat secureeach drift
cutter,and removethem from thesides of the auger housing.
2.
Turnthe drift cuttersaroundand positionthem as shown in Fig. 7
to the outsideof theauger housing.
