Usinga 3/4" wrench,holdthe hex shaftand removethe hex
screwand bellevillewasherand bearingfrom left sideof the
frame.Referto Figure32.

Holdingthe frictionwheelassembly,slidethe hexshaft out of
thefriction wheelassemblyand the rightsideof the frame.The
spaceron the left sideof the hexshaft willfall and the sprocket
shouldremainhanginglosein the chain.
6.
Lift the frictionwheelassemblyout betweenthe axle shaftand
thedrive shaftassemblies.
7.
Removefour screwssecuringthe frictionwheelto the hub
assembly(referto Figure33). Discardold frictionwheel.
8.
Reassemble the newfrictionwheelontothe hub assembly,
tighteningthe fourscrewsin rotationand with equalforce.It is
importantto assemblethe frictionwheelsymmetricallyforproper
functioning.
9.
Repositionthe frictionwheelassemblyin the snowthrowerframe.
Insertthe pin from the shiftarm assemblyintothe frictionwheel
assemblyand hold assemblyin position.Referto Figure34.
10. Slide thehex shaftthroughthe rightsideof the frametowardthe
left side and throughthe frictionwheelassembly.
11. After makingcertainthat the chainis on boththe largeand the
smallsprocket,align the hexshaftwith the hex hub of the small
sprocket,andslide the shaftthroughthe sprocket.
NOTE:If the sprocketfellfrom the snowthrowerwhileremovingthe
hexshaft, placethe sprocketon the chain.Realignthe sprocketon the
chainwith the hexhub facingthe right sideof unit. Positionthe hex
hub of the sprockettowardthe frictionwheelwhen slidingthe sprocket
on to the hex shaft.
