/Ibs. to securethe augerpulleyassemblyon the inputshaft.
12. If alsoreplacingthe drivebelt, proceedto the "DriveBelt"
instruction.If not, repositionthe transmissionframeback onto
the auger housing.Installthedrive belton the enginepulley,
re-connectthe augercable "Z" fittingand augeridler rod ferrule
to the brakebracket.Repositionand securethe enginepulley
belt guard,and re-installthe beltcover.
NOTE:Makesureto removethe pieceof woodblockingthe impeller.
Checktheaugerdrive belt adjustment.With the auger clutchlever
in the disengagedposition,thetop surfaceof the newbeltshouldbe
evenwith theoutsidediameterof the pulley.
To adjust,disconnectferrulefrom brakebracketassembly.Thread
ferrulein (towardsidler) to increasetensionon belt, or out to decrease
belt tension.

NOTE:The brakepuck mustalwaysbe firmly seatedin the pulley
groovewhenaugercontrol is disengaged.
IMPORTANT: R epeatthe "AugerDrive ControlTest"from the As-
semblysectionbeforeoperatingsnow thrower.
Drive Belt Replacement
If notalreadydone,removethe augerdrivebelt from thefront pulleyof
the enginedoublepulley.Referto "AugerBelt Replacement" instruc-
tions in the previoussub-section.

a. Pull the idler pulleyawayfrom the backsideof the drivebeltto
relievethetension.See Figure30.
b. Slip the drivebelt off the idler pulley. Carefullyreleasethe idler
pulley.
2.
Roll thedrive beltoff the lowerdrivepulley.
3.
Removethe beltfrom the enginepulley.
4.
Installthe newbelt on the pulleysin thereverseorderand
re-tensionwith the idler pulley.
5.
Reassemblebyperformingthe previoussteps in the opposite
order and mannerof removal.
CHANGING
FRICTION
WHEEL
The rubberon the frictionwheelis subjectto wearand should be
checkedperiodically.Replacethe frictionwheelif any signsof wearor
crackingare found.

Runthe unit's fueltank dry beforeperformingStep2.
2.
Tip thesnow throwerup and forward,so that it restson the
housing.
3.
Removescrewsfrom the framecover underneath the snow
thrower(referto Figure31). Removethe rightwheelfrom the axle.
