If your PC/Laptop does not have an RS232 serial connector, you can use a USB-to-RS232 Serial

adapter. For the COM port settings, you need to change the USB Serial port to COM1. To do this:
Go to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware - Device Manager and select

the USB Serial Port.
2 Right click on the USB Serial Port, click Properties and select Advanced.
Select COM1 from the drop down menu and click OK.
