Problem
Low quality froth
Display shows "Water
tank empty" even
though the tank is full
"Water tank is empty"
does not appear in
the display despite an
empty water tank.
"Empty waste
container" is displayed
to early.
Cause
• Froth nozzle is dirty.
• Milk system is dirty.
• Steam outlet of the
coffee machine is
blocked.
• Milk too warm, too old
or fat content too high.
• Air in system.
• Water tank walls and
shaft contaminated with
limescale.
• Water system clogged.
• Too much moisture in
the water tank shaft.
• Waste container was
emptied while the coffee
machine was switched
off.

Remedy
• Clean froth nozzle: see section
6 .12 .
• Clean milk system: see section
6 .4 .
• Descaling the coffee machine:
see section 6 .11 .
• Use cold, low-fat milk.
• Dispense a little hot water:
see section 4 .5 .
• Clean inner and outer walls of
water tank and the inner wall of
the water tank shaft with a brush
and descaling solution.
• As a precautionary measure,
run the cleaning or descaling
program: see sections 6 .10 and
6 .11 .
• Unplug the appliance.
• Remove water tank and dry off
thoroughly. Dry the water tank
shaft thoroughly on the inside.
• Empty the waste container only
when the coffee machine is
switched on.
