7 .3 Problems, possible causes and remedies

Problem
Espresso/coffee
not hot enough
Espresso/
coffee too weak.
Very loud noise
No milk froth or
milk not dispensed
or milk in waste
container.
Cause
• Cups too cold.
• Not enough ground
coffee used.
• Ground coffee chamber
clogged.
• Coffee type changed,
setting changed.
• Grinding mechanism
clogged by foreign
matter.
• Grinding mechanism
clogged by coffee grinds.
• Milk system not correctly
connected.
• Milk frother is not
completely inserted.
• Milk tube bent.
• Milk container is empty.
• Milk system clogged.
• Steam outlet of the
coffee machine is
blocked.

Remedy
• Warm up cups with hot water.
• Increase the coffee temperature: see
section 3 .5.
• Measure coffee properly:
top up with max. 1 measuring spoon
of coffee beans.
• Set ground coffee quantity higher.
• Vary grinding fineness.
• Try a different type of coffee.
• Take out the brewing unit, clean the
coffee shaft by pushing a suitable
(round) brush through the ground
coffee chute (9).
• Take the automatic grinding quantity
correction into consideration: see
section 4 .3 under Notes.
• Unplug the appliance.
• Empty the bean container, turn the
grinder anticlockwise by its cover
and vacuum the bean container
thoroughly.
• Contact Cuisinart Customer Care
Team for advice: 0370 2406902.
• The coffee machine can still be
operated with ground coffee.
• Take out the brewing unit, clean the
coffee shaft by pushing a suitable
(round) brush through the ground
coffee chute (9).
• Check milk system connection: see
section
2 .2, 6 .7 and 6 .8 .
• Checking the milk frother:
see section 6 .12 .
• Relocate the milk tube:
see section 6 .7 .
• Fill milk container.
• Clean froth nozzle: see section 6 .12 .
• Descaling the coffee machine: see
section 6 .11 .
