5. Refit any shrouding removed earlier and close the cubicle doors.

Connection procedure of the energy storage cables

Make sure that the converter and filter modules, and other components of the DC/DC
converter unit has been installed in a cabinet, in other words, the mechanical installation
has been done.
Make also sure that the electrical connections between the components of the DC/DC
converter unit has been done.
WARNING!
Obey the safety instructions of the drive. If you ignore them, injury or death, or
damage to the equipment can occur.
If you are not a qualified electrician, do not do installation or maintenance work.
WARNING!
Apply grease to stripped aluminum conductors before attaching them to non-coated
aluminum cable lugs. Obey the grease manufacturer's instructions.
Aluminum-aluminum contact can cause oxidation in the contact surfaces.
1. Stop the drive and do the steps in section
you start the work.
2. Open the door of the DC/DC converter cubicle and remove the shrouding (if any).
3. Lead the cables into the cubicle.
4. Ground the cable shield 360 degrees at the cable entry. See the instructions by the
cabinet installer. An example grounding arrangement is shown below.
5. Cut the cables to suitable length. Strip the cables and conductors, and install the cable
lugs at the end of the conductors.
6. Connect the conductors to appropriate terminals. See the delivery-specific connection
diagram of the cabinet-installed unit. For the tightening torques, see the technical data.
7. Twist the cable shields into bundles and connect them to the protective grounding busbar
(PE) of the cabinet.
8. Refit any shrouding removed earlier and close the cubicle doors.
