4.1

Overview of commissioning

Commissioning of the system is carried out in three partial sections.
Section 1 Preparing the devices. Here the physical addresses are assigned.
Section 2 Adding the devices in the system.
Section 3 Joining the devices together (which outdoor station can communicate with which indoor
station).
The basic procedure for commissioning is described in the following tables.
The precise procedure of the individual steps is contained in the following chapters. The
respective links in the tables refer to the respective chapter.
The examples for application in Chapter 6 "Case studies" on page 64 are selected detailed
procedures based on standard situations.
Section 1
Preparing devices and assigning the physical addresses.
(Detailed information on the system of the addresses, see chapter 5.1 "Adressing ABB-Welcome
IP (devices networking/connecting)" on page 54)
There are two ways for assigning the addresses.
Assigning the physical addresses manually.

Assigning the physical addresses automatically.

– For this the devices with ABB-Welcome App and a
smartphone, for example, are scanned in and stored in a
project.
