Examining the system further, it can be seen that each "Remote Location" has its
own Breakout box to not only provide the audio signals for the amplifier(s) but to
connect via the RS485 "Local" output to the amplifiers.
As this output is a regenerated signal, the maximum cable length is again 1000
metres – total distance end to end, not between adjacent nodes.
In this way, the remote racks can be located as far away as required, as the main
length of cable will be an Ethernet cable and this connection can be extended as
required through the use of standard network switches.
The "Local Amp Rack" is directly connected to the Breakout box, and computer,
via the local RS485 output.
