11. If installed, remove the M.2 SSD module.
12. Remove standoff (Hex nut) screw from the M.2/dedicated iLO/serial port enablement board and keep
it for future use.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.

Removing and replacing an M.2 SSD module

Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have a Phillips No.1 screwdriver available.
Procedure
1. Power down the server.
2. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
4. Do one of the following:
If the server is in tower mode: Place the server on its side with the access panel facing up.
If the server is in rack mode, do one of the following:
Extend the server from the rack.
Remove the server from the rack.
5. Remove the front bezel.
6. Remove the access panel.
7. If installed, remove the air baffle.
8. Remove the M.2 SSD:
a. Remove the SSD mounting screw.
b. Lift the M.2 SSD module at an angle of 45°.
c. Remove the M.2 SSD module from the M.2 slot.
