Calculating the spraying volume through formula
• The calibration of sprayers can be obtained
through calculations obtained according
to formula below.
• The spraying volumes can be obtained
according to the following:
Spraying volume:
GPA = GPM x 495
MPH x S
Noozle flow:
GPM = GPA x MPH X
With:
GPA - Application volume in gallons per acre
GPM - Application volume in gallons per minute
MPH - Tractor speed in miles per hour
S - Row spacing width in feet
495 - Conversion factor
ATTENTION!
The values indicated on the example above are for illustration purposes. The correct
adjustment should be done according to the recommendations of a trusted technician.
495
Example:
Noozles flow rate = 14 gpm at 200 psi (14 x
J4-2 and 12 x JA-3 nozzles = 26 nozzles)
Row spacing = 16.40 x 22.96 ft
Working speed = 2.5 mph
Plants per acre = 115 plants
GPA = GPM x 495
MPH x S
GPA = 14 x 495
2.5 x 22.96
GPA = 6930
GPA = 120.73
Spray volume per plant:
120.73 = 1.04 gallons/plants
115
