1.5 Intended Use

1.5.1 ASSKEA secretion aspirators MPlus-
series
The ASSKEA secretion aspirators MPlus-
series are network-independent mobile medi-
cal aspirators and serve for temporary and
primarily spontaneous aspiration of aspirate
from the trachea.
Typical areas of application are:
• in outpatient and inpatient care,
• in the homecare area, especially for the
aspiration of aspirate from tracheosto-
my patients.

1.5.2 Indications

• Tracheostomy patients
• Aspiration on impaired respiratory function
• Aspiration of blood, secretion and food re-
sidues from the oral cavity, the pharyngeal
zone and the bronchial system
• Evacuation of vacuum mattresses and va-
cuum splints

1.5.3 Contraindications

The ASSKEA secretion aspirators M20

are contraindicated for the fol-

lowing applications:
• Liposuction
• Gynecology applications
• Thoracic drainage
• Continuous drainage
• Applications in wound areas

1.5.4 Restrictions on Use

• In medical rooms where potential equaliza-
tion is necessary (e.g. heart surgery)
• In hazardous areas
1.6 Basic Safety Instructions
ATTENTION!
- Risk of damage due to improper power
supply
Improper operation causes overvoltage in
the device, which may be transmitted to the
operator.
• Ensure prior to startup, that the mains
supply for connecting the ASSKEA secre-
tion aspirators MPlus-series is suitable
for 100V to 240V alternating current with a
mains frequency of 50-60Hz.
• Only operate the ASSKEA secretion aspira-
tors MPlus-series with the provided power
supply unit (type GTM91099-6015-3.0-T2 by
Plus
GlobTek Inc.)
- Risk of application under conditions that
are not approved
• The devices are not intended to be used
outdoors / during transportation.
• The devices are not suitable for applica-
tions within an MRI environment.
- Health risks due to the handling of infec-
tious or pathogenic germs
Infectious and pathogenic germs in the aspi-
rate cause health risks.
• Never use the device without an external
bacterial filter. (exception: ASSKEA dispo-
sable secretion canister system)
• Check that the bacterial filter is dry and
clean prior to every application to ensure
faultless function! (exception: ASSKEA dis-
posable secretion canister system)
• Always perform the aspiration with a suita-
ble sterile aspiration set. The suction tube
must never come into direct contact with
the aspiration site.
• Follow the hygiene, cleaning and deconta-
mination instructions.
