Figures 4-4 shows the connections to measure the insulation of
one conductor to the other conductors. The cable should be dis-
connected at both ends to avoid leakage through switchboards and
panels. For the Model 6503, the connection to the guard terminal
is used to eliminate the effects of surface leakage across exposed
insulation at one end of the cable. Refer to the section on Utilization
of the Guard Terminal (§ 4.5).
