Do Not Disturb
Figure 3.11: Right T42G has pressed the DND button so it can not receive local calls.
We already mentioned that your voicemail might contain custom greetings for when you are
busy or unavailable. The busy greeting is played when you are already on a call, but what
about unavailable greeting? When exactly is your extension unavailable?
This state comes from the fact that you can set the DND (Do Not Disturb) feature on
your phone. This is a very useful feature which when activated, notifies callers that you are
unavailable and that you can leave a voicemail message for you.
It all comes down to pressing the DND button on your phone once to enable Do Not
Disturb feature, and pressing it again to disable this feature.

Call forwarding

This feature is an excellent combination of DND and call transferring features. If you are
busy or unavailable on your current extension, but still want to receive local calls on other
extensions or even remote numbers, you will use this feature. You do not even have to
manually transfer the call to the number of your choice as the system does that for you.
For example, if you are currently working in the office which has a phone with extension
106, but you still want to receive calls from your original extension, prior to leaving your
phone, dial the following on your phone: *71106
This ensures that any call meant for your extension is automatically transferred to the
extension number 106, and this forwarding feature is active until you dial *72 on your phone.
*72 access code turns off call forwarding feature, and tells the system to direct the calls to
your extension again.
