The HORSCH metering unit consists of only
a few individual parts and can be dismantled
without tools.

Whenever performing assembly work
on the motor, you should always mount
it with the bore facing down, so that no
water can run into the housing.
Towards the bottom the metering unit is com-
pleted by the Venturi area. In the Venturi area
the seed is picked up by the air flow.
During calibration the seed is taken out of the
metering unit through the opening in the Venturi
area.
The cover must subsequently be closed again
tightly.

Rotors
There is a large number of rotors available for
the different seed types with numerous geometri-
cal shapes and grain sizes, as well as fertilisers
in form of powders or granulates.
There are also rotors with special properties
available for fertiliser, fine and coarse seeds.
The selection of individual rotors for various ap-
plications, working widths and delivery volumes
is described in the E-Manager instructions.
The cell rotors are arranged according to their
delivery rate per revolution.
Rotors for double Venturi areas
On machines with double Venturi area and two
seed boxes a rotor design with symmetric gra-
duation must be used when using a split rotor.
Otherwise the seed is unevenly distributed to
the two halves.
Absolute leak tightness of components
must be assured with all work on the
metering unit. Leaks lead to metering
errors.
When assembling the metering unit
all contact faces must be sealed and
distortion of the housing caused by
screwing on must be avoided.
