4. Press ENTER key to start calibration. ZERO LED
will light. Loop will go to 22 mA.
5. Press DOWN key to lock in 4 mA value. Zero LED
will flash and remain on. Loop will stay at 22 mA.
6. Press ENTER to confirm setting. ZERO LED will
go off, and loop will go to 4 mA.
7. Establish water at the point on displacer equal to the
lower S.G. × 100% (EX. 0.98 × 100% = 98%).
8. Press ENTER key. ZERO LED will light. Loop will
go to 20 mA.
9. Press UP key to lock in 20 mA value. ZERO LED will
go off. SPAN LED will light. Loop will go to 20 mA.
10. Press ENTER to confirm setting. ZERO LED will
go off, and loop will go to 20 mA.

3.4.4.3.2 Lower S.G. greater than 1.0.

When S.G. of lower liquid is greater than 1.0,
calibrate as follows (this example assumes upper
S.G. = 0.78 and lower S.G. = 1.20):
1. Bring process up to operating temperature.
2. Establish water at the point on displacer equal to the
upper S.G. × 100% (EX. 0.78 × 100% = 78%).
3. Ensure there is no explosion hazard. With unit
power on, remove cover.
4. Press ENTER key to start calibration. ZERO LED
will light. Loop will go to 22 mA.
5. Press DOWN key to lock in 4 mA value. Zero LED
will flash and remain on. Loop will stay at 22 mA.
6. Press ENTER to confirm setting. ZERO LED will
go off, and loop will go to 4 mA.
7. Immerse displacer completely in water.
8. Determine the proper current setting for this cali-
bration step using the following calculation: [(20
mA - 4 mA) × (1.00 - upper S.G.)/(lower S.G -
upper S.g.)] + 4 mA (EX. [(20 mA - 4 mA) × (1.00
- 0.78)/(1.20 - 0.78)] + 4 mA = 12.38 mA).
9. Press ENTER key. ZERO LED will light. Loop will
go to 20 mA.
10. Press UP key to lock in 20 mA value. ZERO LED
will go off. SPAN LED will light. Loop will go to
20 mA.
11. Using UP and DOWN keys, toggle until loop signal
reads 12.38 mA.
12. Press ENTER to confirm setting. The SPAN LED
will go off.
