4.17 Stopping the engine from LOP

Preconditions
☑ Engine is running in local mode.
NOTICE
Stopping the engine when it is running at full load causes extreme stress to the engine.
Risk of overheating, damage to components!
• Before shutting down, disengage gear and run the engine at idle speed for at least 10 minutes until
engine temperatures have dropped and constant values are displayed.

Measure
Disengage gearbox (→ Page 87).
Operate engine at idle speed (→ Page 87).
Wait until engine temperatures do not fall any further.
Press STOP illuminated pushbutton (→ Page 87).
• STOP button is illuminated.
• Engine at a standstill.
