1. Remove the 2 screws that hold the belt shield and lift
it off.

Troubleshooting

Cause
The parking brake is not applied. See
page 16 .
The lift lever for the cutting deck is in mow position. See
The main fuse is blown. See
The ignition lock is defective.
The connection between the cable and the battery is bad. See
page 9 .
The battery is too weak. See
The starter motor is defective.
There is no fuel in the fuel tank. See
The spark plug is defective.
The ignition cable is defective.
There is dirt in the carburettor or fuel line.
The spark plug is defective.
The carburettor is incorrectly set.
The air filter is clogged. See
The fuel tank vent is blocked.
There is dirt in the carburetor or fuel line.
2. Lubricate with a grease gun, 1 nipple from the right
side below the lower belt pulley, until grease is
forced out.
3. Attach the belt shield and tighten the 2 screws.
To apply and release the parking brake on
To replace the main fuse on page 20 .
