It is recommended that if you are not familiar with the use of the BINARY protocol described in this section,
please consider using the ASCII type protocol described in the following sections 8.3 and 8.4. The BINARY
protocol described above is a sophisticated serial communication protocol used only when control system
designs require the use of cyclic redundancy checking (transmission error checking) of the commands and
responses sent and received between master and slave devices. Using the BINARY protocol requires special
programming knowledge and capability.
