1. Paint everything that will be painted in the final house
with one coat now, except the roof tiling. Don't sand or do
any other thing to the parts before the first coat of paint. The
first coat of paint soaks into the grain of the wood and makes
it sturdy. Put on a light coat so sanding will leave the first
coat transparent with some of the wood showing through.
Avoid getting paint on edges that will be glued. Particularly,
avoid paint drips in the grooves for the Floors (on the inside of
the walls) or the groove for the Front Wall in the Porch Base.
Let the paint dry.
Pinte ahora todo lo que será pintado en la casa final con una
capa de pintura, con la excepción de las tejas del techo. No lije
ni haga nada a las piezas antes de la primera capa de pintura. La

2 Sand (320 grit) all of the parts until the surface feels
smooth and "soft", with some of the wood showing through.
Sand the Clapboard surfaces of the walls with folded sandpa-
per, one clapboard surface at-a-time.

3 Trace a line on the underside of the Front and Rear Roofs
to second-coat the eaves. The thickness of the Stairset gives a
line that will will allow you to paint to the line and have that
edge hidden in the joint between the walls and the roof.
Second-coat the paint on the walls, eaves, the front edge of the
Top Floor, and porch parts.
