instructions.
Problem
The Impaq 8000 doesn't
work.
The device doesn't emit
any sound.
The subwoofer hums.
The sound is not ideal.
Playback is noisy.
Possible cause
The receiver has no power.
Fuse defective.
The wrong source has been se-
lected.
The device is set to "mute".
The volume is set to "0".
Speaker cable not stripped.
The subwoofer is connected to a
different power circuit from the
rest of the system.
The hum is due to line distur-
bance.
The humming is caused by a mul-
tiple socket strip.
The settings are incorrect.
Generally speaking, the
Impaq 8000 is a very low-noise
system. The speaker system with
very high resolution in the high
range area can expose the poor
quality of a signal source (e.g.
from MP3 files).

Troubleshooting

Solution
Check the mains cord and socket.
1.
Disconnect the mains
cord.
Carefully pull the fuse
holder on the mains
connection jack out.
Select the right source (page 16).
Push the
button (29) or adjust the volume.
Increase the volume (page 17).
Properly connect the speakers (page 13).
Connect the subwoofer and Impaq 8000 to the
same power circuit.
Buy a mains filter and connect both devices to it.
Use a different multiple socket strip or connect
the subwoofer directly to the wall socket. It may
also help to insert the mains plug in the socket
the other way around.
Set the bass tones, treble tones and sound
effects (see page 27).
Ensure that the source is sending a clear signal
to the Impaq 8000.
2.
Push the old fuse down
and out. Insert a new
fuse (6.3 A delayed
action) and push the
holder back.
