4.8 Control Wiring

4.8.1 Control Terminal Types
Figure 4.8 shows the removable adjustable frequency drive
connectors. Terminal functions and default settings are
summarized in Table 4.1 and Table 4.2.

Size the wiring based on the input current of the
adjustable frequency drive. For maximum wire
sizes, see chapter 9.1 Electrical Data.
Comply with local and national electrical codes
for cable sizes.
Connect the AC input power cables to terminals
N and L for single-phase units (see Figure 4.6) or
to terminals L1, L2 and L3 for 3-phase units (see
Figure 4.7).
Depending on the configuration of the
equipment, connect the input power to the line
power input terminals or the input disconnect.
Ground the cable in accordance with the
grounding instructions in chapter 4.3 Grounding.
When supplied from an isolated line power
source (IT line power or floating delta) or TT/TN-S
line power with a grounded leg (grounded delta),
ensure that the RFI filter screw is removed to
avoid damage to the intermediate circuit and
reduce ground capacity currents in accordance
with IEC 61800-3.
