Perform Initial Configuration

A factory-default E-MSM720 is assumed. Ports 1 to 4 are available at
192.168.1.1.
Do not connect power or network cables to the E-MSM720 until directed to
do so.
To initially configure the E-MSM720:
1.
Configure your computer to use a static IP address in the range
192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254 and set the subnet mask to
255.255.255.0. Set the default gateway to 192.168.1.1, and DNS server
to 192.168.1.1.
2.
Connect Network Cables:
a.
Disconnect any cable from your computer Ethernet ports, and disable
any wireless connection.
b. Connect E-MSM720 port 1 (ports 2 to 4 can also be used) to your
computer Ethernet port.
c.
Connect E-MSM720 port T5 or T6 (or if enabled, port S5 or S6) to a
network with Internet access or to the PC port of a DSL modem or
equivalent.
3.
Power on the E-MSM720 wait approximately 90 seconds until the front
LEDs stop blinking.
4.
Perform Initial Login Tasks:
a.
Using Microsoft Internet Explorer 7/8 or Mozilla Firefox 3.x, open
page: https://192.168.1.1.
