8. Troubleshooting
Symptom
Unit will not power on
Unit powers on briefly
Unit will not turn off
Battery indicator
flashing
Display reads "OUT"
Backlight not on

Possible Cause
Batteries depleted
Battery case not secure
Polarity reversed
Batteries depleted
Incorrect power button
operation
Batteries are low
Unit tilted forward /
backwards in excess of
allowable range
Backlight is off
Backlight timed out
Solution
Replace batteries
Secure battery case
with set screw
Install batteries with
proper polarity
Replace batteries
Press and hold power
button for 3 seconds to
power off the level
Replace batteries
Do not tilt the level
beyond its allowable
range
Turn on backlight
Turn on backlight or
move level to reactivate
the backlight
