Please follow these instructions in the order they appear in the Installation chapter.
The correct sequence of events is:

Set up each system component mechanically but do not connect to the control
unit yet. See "Positioning and Mounting" on page 11.

Connect equipment to the SX-32e. See "Connecting External Equipment"
on page 16.
3
Adapt the control unit to the installation. See "Setting Up the Control Unit"
on page 20.
4
Check the setup. See "Checking and Finalizing the Installation" on page 35.

Positioning and Mounting

This chapter describes how the following system components are positioned in
relation to each other:

• Control unit

• Printout activator
• Speed encoder
• Communication device (PC, etc.)
• Print heads (connecting only)
For information on adapting the control unit to the mechanical installation, see
"Setting Up the Control Unit" on page 20.
Note that the standard Matthews warranty is void if any other than Matthews
approved equipment and cables are connected to this control unit.
Control Unit
The SX-32e control unit has been designed for placing on a horizontal surface, such
as a table. For fixing into position, either vertically or horizontally, the mounting
bracket must be used. See "The Mounting Bracket" on page 41.
