Replacing silver ionization rods on the PH15/PH15A

1. Set unit out of operation and disconnect it from the mains (unplug mains cable).
On units PH15A additionally close the water supply and disconnect the supply line from the
connection of the unit.
2. Remove water carrier/blanking cover.
3. Press the locking mechanism of the unit housing on both sides inward, then lift the housing
carefully upward from the mobile base.
4. Pull float protection cover on both sides apart and remove protection cover forward.
5. Undo both nuts on the silver ionization rod holder, then remove holder.
6. Unscrew threaded rod "C" so far that the used ionization rod "A" can be pulled out.
7 .
Clean bore.
8. Apply some silicone-free grease (e.g. Berulub FB34, Article-No. 1119654) around the new ioniza-
tion rod as shown in the illustration.
Note: When inserting the rod the grease seals the bore. This prevents water from penetrating
into the bore which could lead to that in place of the ionisation rod the threaded rod will be
galvanically corroded.
9. Carefully insert the ionization rod into the bore until it comes to a stop.
Note: Make sure the contact point "D" is free of grease, otherwise a correct electrical conduc-
tion and thus the correct function are not ensured.
10. Screw in the threaded rod "C" and moderately tighten it.
11. Attach ionization rod holder in the correct position to the support and fix it with the fastening
nut. Then, fix lug of the connecting cable to the ionization rod holder with the washer and the
counter nut.
12. Assemble the unit in reverse order of steps 1 to 4 and put it into in operation.
