RUNNING-IN PERIOD
Running-in period

The following simple suggestions are
provided within the first 1,500 km, to
ensure the vehicle performance and
prolong the vehicle service life.
– The vehicle should be started and
run gently and steadily, the vehicle
speed and engine speed should be
appropriate, and the gear for driving
should be selected reasonably.
– During the running-in period, the
engine speed should not be higher
than 4,000r/ min;
– Avoid emergency braking as far as
possible;
– Do not tow other vehicles within the
first 1,500km.

For the gasoline engine, from 1,500
km, increase the vehicle speed and
perform acceleration gradually till up
to the appropriate rotation speed. In
general, the engine will run at the best
performance from 3,000 km.
For a new vehicle, after traveling for
three months or 2,500 km (whichever
comes first), have it undergone the
runningin period inspection either at
Dongfeng Franchise Store or IKCO
authorised representatives.
Note:
Check the engine oil level more
frequently during the running-in period,
because the fuel consumption may be
relatively higher in this period of time.
