Setting the Module Address You set the module address on the addressing switch. This also

establishes the necessary assignments between user program and
process connection. The module address is the sum of the decimal
significances of the switch rockers in the On setting (• • ).
One data word = two data bytes is required to process an input. A
module with 8 inputs therefore reserves 16 byte addresses, and a
module with 16 inputs or outputs reserves 32 byte addresses.
You can affix the adhesive label with the desired module address on a
free labelling field under the addressing switch.
The switch rockers to be set for the module address specified as a
decimal number (address bit ADB) are marked by dots on the label.
Press the individual rockers of the addressing switch downwards with
a ballpoint pen or similar object, but not a pencil.

The address under which the module is referenced by the STEP 5
program is independent of the slot.
For analog input and analog output modules (8 or 16 inputs) only the
lowest address (start address) is set. Other addresses (subaddresses)
are decoded on the module.
