During use

WARNING for RA/ESA Connectors

For use with respirator filters:
The ambient air must contain at least 17% of oxygen; observe
country-specific regulations, where necessary. Never enter
unventilated tanks, pits, canals, etc. when wearing filter
equipment. The type of pollutants must be known, choose
corresponding breathing filter. Strictly follow the Instructions
for Use of the respiratory filter!
3.5.1 Low temperatures
Use anti-fog coated visors (PCaf) or use anti-fog agent "klar-pilot" gel
to prevent visor inside from steaming up. Use "klar-pilot" comfort to
prevent the anti-scratch coated visors (PCas) from steaming up.
3.5.2 High temperatures/Thermal cycling

Leave the danger zone immediately after noticing any signs
of damage, e. g. bubbles in the visor.
The coating may dissolve in some places on visors marked with PCas
and PCaf. The facepiece is fully serviceable until the end of the oper-
ation. Replace visor after use.
3.5.3 Chemicals
Some substances may be absorbed by the material of the mask body or
may possibly diffuse into it. Further information can be obtained from
Dräger.

After use

3.6.1 Taking off the breathing filter or breathing
apparatus
RA Unscrew the breathing filter or breathing apparatus.
PE Unscrew the breathing apparatus.
Unscrew the breathing filter or press buttons on the
ESA breathing apparatus and simultaneously pull the breath-
ing apparatus out of the connector.
Press the button (Figure A3-25 on page 3) and simulta-
P neously pull the breathing apparatus out of the connec-
tor.
3.6.2 Removing the facepiece
1. Pull the adjuster buckles of the neck straps forward with
your thumb and loosen the straps (Figure E on pa-
