5· 1 9. Reference Level DC Offset Adjustment

a. Set the 35 85A controls for:

Set the synthesizer controls for:
b. Connect the 500 output of the Synthesizer to A 1 71 1 using a BNC to Sealectro adapter
cable. Increase the amplitude of the synthesizer output until the Marker reading equals the
Reference Level ( = 27dBm) .
c. Using short clip leads , short A14TP4 to ground.
d. Set the 3585A controls for:
e . Using a DVM measure the dc voltage at A I 5TP5 . Record the voltage reading:
f . Enter RECALL 1 o n the 3585A keyboard .
g. Measure the dc voltage at A I 5TP5 . Record the reading:
h . Subtract the first reading from the second reading. The difference should b e 1 95mV . If
the difference voltage is not 1 95m V, set the 3585A controls for:
Adjust A1 5R9 slightly.
i. Repeat steps e thru h until the difference voltage reads 1 95m V .
j . Remove the shorting lead from A 1 4TP4 to ground.
