OPERATION

NOTE: NEVER DO ANY LAYOUT, SETUP OR ADJUSTMENT WORKS WHILE BLADE IS RUNNING
The saw does not cut wood by itself. You allow the saw to cut through wood as you feed the workpiece
slowly into the blade.
NOTE: THE BLADE CUTS ONLY ON THE DOWN STROKE!
You should feed the workpiece slowly as the teeth of the blade are thin and small and they remove wood
only during the downstroke.
Do not apply any feed pressure onto the blade - that would cause kickback, bend, flex, twist the blade or
even cause blade breakage.
When being new to scroll saw cutting you will normally ruin some blades until you get the feeling for the
right feeding speed and technique.
Best results are achieved when cutting wood thinner than 1 inch ~ 26mm.
When cutting wood or any other material thicker than one inch you must feed the workpiece VERY SLOW-
LY and increase blade tension.

BLADE SELECTION:

Choose a blade with teething so that at least 3 teeth are in the workpiece during cutting operation
For soft and/or thin materials and narrow cutting radius use thin, narrow blades.
To cut thicker, harder materials use thicker and wider blades.
Most blade packages state the following data of the blades: length, width, teeth per inch, min. cutting
radius suitable for;
A general rule of thumb: blades naturally wear after 1/2 - 2 hours of operation, depending on blade and
material type.
