keep vehicle in optimum operating condition.

Check lubricant levels. Add if necessary.

Wash engine compartment and underside
of vehicle. Do not wash engine when hot.
Clean terminals and wash dirt from
casing; check electrolyte level. Add
distilled water if necessary. See page 59.
Check and adjust if necessary. See
Section 7 – Steering and Front
Suspension in the appropriate
maintenance and service manual.
Check for tightness and damage.
Inspect master cylinder, brake lines, and
hoses for damage or leakage.
Check park brake cables for damage;
replace if necessary.
Check brake pads and discs; replace if
necessary. For brake wear in procedure,
see Hydraulic Brakes in the Pre-
Operation and Daily Safety Checklist
on page 21. See also Section 6 – Brake
