    Control Admin The procedure to be followed when problems occur during the transmission of image data from the GALILEOS X-ray unit to the visualization PC after a patient scan (rescue management). This manual does not provide descriptions of the GALAXIS software.

    This chapter describes the operating sequence for taking a patient scan. For more detailed descriptions on operating the GALILEOS X-ray unit, please refer to the instruction manual for this device. Operation of SIDEXIS software is described in detail in the "SIDEXIS User Manual".

    2 Creating 3D X-Rays Preparing the unit for exposure Procedure 1. Start SIDEXIS. 2. Select the appropriate patient. NOTE If the last scan has not yet been confirmed, you must confirm it before proceeding: Press the R key. Press the R key again to move the unit to the start position.
  • Page 7 2 Creating 3D X-Rays To select the desired X-ray component, click on it and then press OK to confirm. NOTE The procedure for enabling X-ray acquisition units for single workstations is described in detail in the "SIDEXIS XG Installation Instructions". The software first checks the network connection to see whether the acquisition unit is communicating correctly before displaying the Exposure Readiness dialog.

    SIDEXIS while it is saving the scan otherwise your data will be lost. Do not perform any other tasks on the PC while the scan is saving. In particular, you must not use Sirona Control Admin (SCA), print files or carry out any file or directory management tasks.

    Reconstruction Server (CBRecoServer) The Reconstruction Server is used for reconstructing 3D volume data. Prerequisites In order to operate an GALILEOS X-ray unit, SCS and the Reconstruction Server must be installed on the Reconstruction Control Unit RCU).

    3 Sirona Control Server / CBRecoServer GALILEOS Reconstruction Monitor The Reconstruction Server can also be started and stopped separately using the GALILEOS Reconstruction Monitor, which only runs on the RCU. This is usually not necessary. NOTE The SCS log files are stored in the following location: Installation Directory\Sirona\GALILEOS \ Log.

    SCA can be started on any workstation using SIDEXIS Manager. You can start SCA in one of two modes: 1. In Rescue mode using Sirona Control Admin Rescue, see Section 4.2. 2. In License mode using Sirona Control Admin License, see Section 4.3.

    4 Sirona Control Admin Sirona Control Admin Rescue In Rescue mode, SCA contains the following tabs: 1. Settings 2. DataContainer 3. GALILEOSDevices Settings tab In the Server Data area you can see the IP configurations and the description of the RCU which is currently selected.

  • Page 15 Cancel Closes the context menu. GALILEOS Devices tab This tab displays all of the GALILEOS X-ray devices which can be accessed using the selected RCU. (Under normal circumstances, one unit.) A description, IP address and IP port are displayed for each unit.

    RCU. If several dongles are attached to the selected RCU, all of the licenses available on all of the dongles are displayed. The licenses have a Sirona license ID, which is displayed in the Description. This tab also displays the number of licenses available and the number of licenses currently in use.

    5 Rescue Management Rescue Management A rescue state occurs after creating a scan if it is not possible to transfer data to SIDEXIS. There are three types of rescue state: Rescue StateUnit The scan cannot be transferred (Section 5.2). Rescue StateReconstruction The reconstruction has not yet been carried out (Section 5.3, Case Rescue StateImport The data has yet to be transferred to sidexid (Section 5.3, Case B)

    SIDEXIS: "The unit is in rescue mode. ATTENTION If you switch off GALILEOS X-ray unit while it is in rescue mode, the scan will be lost. Procedure 1. If necessary, check out any patients who are still registered in SIDEXIS.
