12. DEVICE CONFIGURATION

On the ALMEMO
ment a number of parameters can be con-
figured. To do so when switching ON press
and hold down key
should then show an abbreviation for the
parameter and the main field should show
the value currently set.
To select from all possible parameters,
if any are available, press keys :
Device address; see 12.1
Locking the CLR key: see 12.4
Reference channel and scaling for
1st analog output (at socket A2): see 12.2
Reference channel and scaling for
2nd analog output (at socket A1): see 12.2
Reference channel and scaling for
Analog output P0-6 (option);: see 12.2

12.1 Device address and networking

To communicate with networked devices it is absolutely indispensable that
each device should have its own baud rate (standard 9600 bd) setting and its
own dedicated address; this is because only one device should respond per
command. Before starting network operation ensure therefore that all the
measuring instruments involved are assigned different device addresses. This
is the purpose of the afore-mentioned ´Adr´ parameter.
