Recording an ECG: Record a Master's Step Test (Option–Japan only)
Enter Patient Data
Enter the patient's gender, age, and weight either
manually with the keyboard or by sliding the patient data
card through the card reader option.
Confirm Test Steps
Note: The Masters' Step only generates a 2 x 5 second report.
In the Setup menu, confirm that the following parameters
as correct:

Number of Steps,
n
Test Type,
n
Post J (ms),
n
Step Counter Display,
n
Continuous Recording,
n
Sound Option, and
n
Post Exercise ECG Time.
Press Return.

Record the ECG
Press the ECG button to record a pre-exercise ECG.

Run the Test
1. Remove the leadwires from the patient. Keep the
electrodes on the patient.
2. Press Continue to begin the exercise test.
3. When the patient finishes the exercise, immediately
reattach the leadwires to the electrodes. Check the
waveform quality on the screen to confirm that all
leadwires are correctly reattached.
4. Press Continue to record the ECG right after the
Masters' Step exercise.
5. The MAC 5000 automatically records any additional
ECGs you program using the post-ECG time in the
setups.
6. Once you record all ECGs, a final report prints.
