a. Load Stability Sensor Removal
1. Open engine covers. Allow engine to cool.
2. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable at the
negative (-) battery terminal.
3. Disconnect the LSI electrical connector.
4. Loosen and remove the two bolts holding the Load
Stability Sensor to the rear axle.
5. Remove the sensor assembly.
b. Load Stability Sensor Installation
1. Clean the bare metal with a degreasing solution and
allow to dry.
2. Apply a thin film of Loctite
metal surface of the transducer, ensuring the
adhesive is spread evenly over the entire surface.
3. Fit the transducer, ensuring the lead exits in the
corner direction. If the existing bolts are not
available, use M10 x 40 mm bolts with a minimum
tensile strength of 10.9. No washers are used.
Note: It is important to prevent distortion of the sensor
element, therefore tighten the bolts alternately a small
amount at a time, until a value of 70 Nm (50 lb-ft) is
achieved.
4. Leave the machine undisturbed for a minimum of
2 hours before moving. DO NOT lift any load for a
minimum of 12 hours.
5. The transducer and area around it can be painted
2 hours after installation.
6. Plug the electrical connector into the sensor
assembly.
7. Connect the negative (-) battery cable to the negative
(-) battery terminal.
8. Close and secure engine covers.

c. Load Stability Indicator Calibration (CE)
Calibrate the Load Stability Indicator (LSI) with the
48 in (1220 mm) carriage and 2 x 4 x 48 in
(50 x 100 x 1220 mm) forks.
1. Place the machine on a level surface.
2. Fully lower and retract the boom. With no load on the
forks, turn the engine off.
3. With the ignition key in the OFF position, press and
hold the TEST button and start the engine. Continue
to hold the TEST button until the POWER LED starts
to flash. Release the button within 2 seconds.
Note: If TEST button is held longer than 2 seconds the
LSI will default into normal operation.
4. With the TEST button being released within 2
seconds, the LSI will enter the calibration mode.
5. The lower green load scale LED is illuminated when
the LSI is in the calibration mode.
6. Press and release the TEST button. The lower green
load scale LED will blink for approximately 8
seconds, indicating that the LSI is reading the
sensor condition on the rear axle.
7. The LED will turn OFF and the alarm tone will sound
for approximately 2 seconds.
8. The upper red load scale LED will then turn on.
9. With the machine on a level surface and the rear
wheels on a calibrated scale, place a 4,400 lbs.
(2,000 kg) test weight on the forks.
10. Fully retract the boom and raise the load
approximately 12 in (305 mm) above the ground.
11. Slowly extend the boom horizontally until the
combined weight on both rear wheels is 700 lbs
(318 kg). STOP all boom movement.
12. Press and release the TEST button. The upper red
load scale LED will blink for approximately 8
seconds, indicating that the LSI is reading the
sensor condition on the rear axle.
13. The upper red load scale LED will then turn on.
14. The POWER LED will be the only LED illuminated
and the alarm tone will sound continuously.
15. Turn the ignition OFF.
16. If the three conditions stated in steps 12, 13 and 14
do not occur, the calibration has failed, start over
beginning with step 1.
