Appendix F: HART Communications

Highway Addressable Remote Transducer, HART, is an industrial protocol that is
superimposed on the 4-20 mA signal. It is an open standard, and full details about HART
can be obtained from the HART Communication Foundation at www.hartcomm.org
SITRANS LR260 can be configured over the HART network using either the HART
Communicator 375 by Fisher-Rosemount, or a software package. The recommended
software package is the SIMATIC Process Device Manager (PDM) by Siemens.

SIMATIC PDM

This software package is designed to permit easy configuration, monitoring, and
troubleshooting of HART devices. The HART EDD for SITRANS LR260 was written with
SIMATIC PDM in mind and has been extensively tested with this software.
For more information, see

HART Electronic Device Description (EDD)

In order to configure a HART device, the configurator must have the HART Electronic

the availability of the HART EDD for SITRANS LR260. Older versions of the library will
have to be updated in order to use all the features of SITRANS LR260.

HART Version

SITRANS LR260 conforms to HART rev. 5.

HART Burst Mode
