Figure 28.

at the bottom of the display.
Use the Up and Down arrows to highlight the desired barrel for BRIXing.
Locate the appropriate barrel sample tube and hold a cup under it.
Open the valve at the end of the sample tube. Press the BRIX button, and
wait 3-5 seconds. The product pump pumps product for approximately 3
seconds. After the sample is dispensed Press BRIX twice more to dispense
product two more times. Discard all three of these samples.
Press the BRIX button a fourth time. Collect this sample in a cup and close
the valve at end of the sample tube.
Place adequate amount of the product on a refractometer and read the
BRIX value. A target BRIX reading of 13.0 (+/- 1.0) is normally desired for
sugar-based syrups. Lower values for some diet syrups can be specified.
Check with the syrup manufacturer if you are not sure.
If BRIX is not within the proper range, adjust the syrup/water mixture by
opening or closing the syrup valve, shown in Figure 32., and then retest.
When BRIX measurement is complete, press the valve on the bottom of the
appropriate water solenoid to flush out the hose before closing the valve at
the end of the hose.
Turn product supply valve back to the (BARREL) position for the barrel you
tested. (See Figure 31.)
Replace the hoses and the access panel. Secure the panel with the two
screws removed in Step 2. This completes the procedure.
