Disconnect pulse generator coupler, measure pulse generator
resistance.
Connection Method: blue/yellow cord terminal to body earth.

CHECKING IGNITION TIMING
•
Conduct check after
warming
up the engine.
•
Since COl ignition system is being utilized, ignition timing
adjustment 'is not possible.
•
If ignition timing is incorrect, check COl unit and pulse
generator and replace if defective.
Warm up

Stop engine, support with side stand.
Remove timing hole cap
Connect timing light to high tension cord.
Start engine: During idling,
if
the flywheel "F" mark is aligned
with the
no~ch
on the left crankcase cover, condition is normal.
Idling rpm: 1.400
±
100 rpm
Gradually increase engine rpm, check to see that the flywheel
advance mark matches the left crankcase cover notch.
Check to see that there is no damage to the o-ring of the
timing hole cap. Replace if dama,ged.
Apply engine oil to the o-ring of the timing hole cap, attach,
then tighten timing hole cap to the specified torque.
Torque: 0.6 kg-m
