Removing a wheel

WARNING
If you do not position the jack correctly at
the appropriate jacking point of the vehi-
cle, the jack could tip over with the vehicle
raised. There is a risk of injury.
Only position the jack at the appropriate
jacking point of the vehicle. The base of the
jack must be positioned vertically, directly
under the jacking point of the vehicle.

Do not place wheel bolts in sand or dirt.
The threads of the wheel bolts and wheel
hubs could otherwise be damaged when
the bolts are tightened.
Vehicles with steel wheels and hub caps:

Using both hands, grasp two hub cap
openings and remove the hub cap.
Vehicles with steel wheels and hub cap cov-
ers:
X
Remove the wheel hub cover.
Changing a wheel

Using wheel wrench : loosen the wheel
bolts by about one turn. Do not unscrew the
wheel bolts completely.
The vehicle may only be raised at the desig-
nated jacking points. These points ; are
located in the front and the rear directly next
to the wheels. Do not position jack = on the
edge of sill :. Otherwise, damage to the
vehicle could occur.
