All closable stowage compartments

should be closed before beginning your
journey.
Always stow and secure heavy, hard,
R
pointed, sharp-edged, fragile objects or
objects which are too large behind the
last bench seat or under the passenger
seats.

WARNING
Combustion engines emit poisonous
exhaust gases such as carbon monoxide. If
the tailgate is open when the engine is
running, particularly if the vehicle is mov-
ing, exhaust fumes could enter the
passenger compartment. There is a risk of
poisoning.
Turn off the engine before opening the
tailgate. Never drive with the tailgate
open.
The handling characteristics of a laden vehi-
cle are dependent on the distribution of the
load within the vehicle.
Observe the following loading guidelines
when loading and transporting luggage and
loads:
never exceed the maximum permissible
R
gross vehicle weight or the permissible
axle loads for the vehicle (including occu-
pants)
the load compartment is the preferred
R
place to stow objects
stow heavy loads as far forwards and as
R
low down in the load compartment as pos-
sible
the load must not protrude above the upper
R
edge of the seat backrests
always place the load against the rear or
R
front seat backrests. Make sure that the
seat backrests are securely locked in place
always transport the load behind unoccu-
R
pied seats if possible
secure the load and luggage suitably
R

Using lashing eyelets

Opening the boot

The tailgate swings upwards and to the
rear when opened. Therefore, make sure
that there is sufficient clearance above
and behind the tailgate.

Press the % button on the key.

Press button :.

Fold the tailgate up.

Closing the boot

Pull the tailgate down and close.
X
Press the & button on the key.
The vehicle is locked.
Using lashing eyelets
To prevent damage, observe the following:
Secure the load using lashing eyelets :.

Distribute the load on the lashing eyelets
R
evenly.
Do not use elastic straps or nets.
R
Pad any sharp edges.
