Adding engine oil

G
WARNING
If engine oil comes into contact with hot
components in the engine compartment, it
may ignite. There is a risk of fire and
injury.
Make sure that engine oil does not spill out
over the filler neck. Allow the engine to
cool down and thoroughly clean the com-
ponents that have come into contact with
engine oil before you start the engine.
!
Do not add too much oil. If the oil level is
above the MAX mark on the dipstick, too
much oil has been added. This can lead to
engine damage or catalytic converter
damage. Have excess oil siphoned off.
!

oil. This could damage the engine.

To repair the engine block of a SMART forfour, you need to select the correct repair parts for your specific car model and engine type. Available parts include the "Valve, engine block breather" and other relevant repair kits. It is important to choose the correct model to ensure compatibility. Use a parts catalogue or search by key number (Field 2 or 2.1/2.2) to find suitable components.
